    • Terms of Use.

This news site is run as a news blog by an individual who finances it. This is a non commercial non profitable blog.

The purpose is a to make local news available for non commercial use.

It relies on News feeds from Councils, BBC, Police, Local Blogs, Local news.In order to add extra content and services our external links and displays are free.

As the blog is to promote local news free and is non commercial non profit making network it would not be possible to pay Press Association Commercial licence fees for content because it is not set up to make a financial gain.

A recent court case agrees commercial users can be charged for content that is resold for profit. However non commercial blogs etc would not be charged.

However it appears some press associations are getting rather greedy and are chasing private bloggers for fees if they are using some local newspaper feeds.

They appear to be using a debt collection business called Buchanan Clark & Wells of Glasgow who are sending made up charges for use of copyright material.

If you are a private blogger having the same problem I would like to hear from you.

If you are a online newspaper or press association your comments would also be welcome.

If anyone has a problem with the content of this site and wishes for any content to be remove please contact me.

New problems to Buckinghamshire County Council on FixMyStreet
The latest problems for Buckinghamshire County Council reported by users
    • Wobbly Stile, 21st August
Dangerous, wobbly stile. Wood looks new, all in good condition but needs stabilising.
Nearest road to the pin placed on the map (automatically generated by Bing Maps): High Wycombe
      Report on FixMyStreet
    • White lining at junction of A40 with Ibstone Road, 21st August
It is 'fashionable' - and cheaper - for highway authorities to leave much white lining at the centre of carriageways etc to disappear with the argument that uncertainty slows cars . Here Buckinghamshire CC are leaving to disappear a 'ghost' together with attendant lane markings. This creates a great deal of ambiguity for the positioning of cars (for example those turning out from Stokenchurch village onto the A40 towards Lewknor). I fear that vehicles may be increasingly likely to pick the 'up' lane of the M40 with disastrous consequences. The area needs good clear white lining and perhaps a review of signage. Other points on maintaining vision through grass cutting are also valid of course.
Nearest road to the pin placed on the map (automatically generated by Bing Maps): Oxford Road, Stokenchurch

    • Pothole just off roundabout, 21st August
Pothole / uneven road surface just 1 metre off the roundabout (which was re-surfaced recently). Seems short sighted that this could have been dealt with at the same time as the re-surfacing of the road !
Nearest road to the pin placed on the map (automatically generated by Bing Maps): Park Road, Chesham

    • Lighting, street light damaged, 20th August
First noticed on Tue, 12 Aug 2014. I see this as medium priority. Road signage is faulty. It is unlit and depends upon reflective signing. The lack of lighting in this location is a potential safety hazard but worse still the reflective surfaces are badly damaged. This applies to ALL of the traffic islands in this 30 mph section.
Nearest road to the pin placed on the map (automatically generated by Bing Maps): Chesham Road, Ashley Green

    • Reinstatement of drive, 20th August

      Report on FixMyStreet
    • Chequers Orchard, Iver – Appalling State and Poor Patching, 20th August
The road surface of the whole road (Chequers Orchard) is in an appalling state of disrepair. A previous resurfacing job some ten or so years ago was so badly done that the surface is now cracking up. At the time of the previous resurfacing no allowance was made for expansion joints (as on the underlying construction). As a result, the surface is now breaking up along all of the underlying joints as well as the sides of the underlying surface. The surface material used was also substandard and not up to the job. Chequers Orchard suffers an issue of high volumes of HGV using it as a turning zone and a large number of parked cars for local businesses. As a result, the road is in need of a proper resurfacing project not merely a surface covering. The damage will be to the underlying construction as well and without fixing this the appalling patches that have been done are wasting valuable money.

    • Well done Bucks CC!!, 19th August
Well done to Bucks CC for filling in all the potholes along this road from the A355 to Dropmore, and for fully-resurfacing stretches also. The whole road has also been completely resurfaced with tar and loose chippings, and is now a joy to drive on. Thank you. I drive this road every day, and would like to make a suggestion: last winter, in the heavy rain, large stones washed out of the banks at the side of the road, which cars then unavoidably ground into the road, causing the surface to break up badly. Could I suggest that, to prevent this happening again, and to stop the new road surface from being destroyed, that you take measures to try and ensure that stones are unable to wash down from the banks? It was particularly bad on the stretch before the right-hand bend by Hill Wood.

    • Pothole, 18th August
There is a pothole on the edge of the carriageway (west side) opposite the entrance to Old Thatch beside the Spade Oak pub. It is on a blind bend and vehicles proceeding northbound often veer towards the centre of the road to avoid it, thus creating a collision hazard should a vehicle be approaching from the opposite direction.

      Report on FixMyStreet
    • Lighting not working in the centre of the road, 18th August
Central reservation light has been out for months. People speed at night and drive on the incorrect side of the road to avoid hitting the reservation because they can't see it in advance and are driving too fast.
